This collection contains 11 boxes. Each box has anywhere from 4 to 15 folders of materials.

Scope and Contents of the Materials

This is a collection of materials used by Professor Kenton Clymer when writing his second book, Protestant Missionaries in the Philippines, 1898-1916:  An Inquiry into the American Colonial Mentality (Urbana:  University of Illinois Press, 1986).

Biographical Note

Prof. Kenton Clymer has been teaching history at Northern Illinois University since 2004.  Before that he taught at the University of Texas El-Paso for thirty three years.  He was also a Fulbright Lecturer at Renmin University in Bejing from 2003 to 2004.  He is most interested in U.S.-Asia relations, and in particular U.S. relations with Southeast Asia.
