Historical Note: Daniel Wit was the first chair of the Department of Political Sciences at Northern Illinois University. He chaired the department from 1961 to 1969. Daniel was also the founding director and dean of International Programs at NIU from 1969 to 1992. He is the author of several books including: "Thailand: Another Vietnam?", "Local Government in Thailand", and "Our American Government and Political System: structure, function and analysis".
