Name: Clark, Marybeth

Historical Note: Marybeth Clark was a linguistic scholar.  Her emphasis was on Southeast Asian languages, and specifically Vietnamese.  She is the co-author of Spoken Vietnamese for Beginners, which was published by Northern Illinois University Press.  She was a volunteer with IVS in Vietnam in the 1960's, and later established and taught a Vietnamese language program at Australian National University.  In addition to her book, she has written many scholarly papers on the linguistics of Vietnamese and Lao.
