Scope and Contents of the Materials

The Catherine Lundoff Papers consists of a printed (paper-based) manuscript, convention/conference materials, award nominations, reviews, and interviews related to the author's works, along with a small amount of correspondence associated to those materials. The collection is divided into series based upon format. Series I consists of novels, Series II is short stories,Series III consists of correspondence, Series IV is reviews, Series V contains awards and nominations, Series VI holds convention/conference materials, Series VII is for printed media (newsletters, brochures, and magazines), Series VIII is miscellaneous, and Series IX is digital content (which is kept in the Rare Books Digital Collections within the SFWA Archives).  Within each section, organization is based on original date of work.

Collection Historical Note

Catherine is an LGBT SF/F writer, based in Minneapolis. She regularly attends WisCon and CONvergence. Catherine's wife, Jann, is a book artist.

Catherine currently lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota with her life partner Jana Pullman. Lundoff was born in Brooklyn, New York. She moved to St. Louis in 1981 to attend Washington University where she obtained a B.A. in history and anthropology. After she spent many years working as a professional archeologist, she earned an M.A. in feminist anthropology at the University of Iowa. She spent time traveling in Central America and in 1991 she opened the bookstore, Grassroots Books, in Iowa City, Iowa. The store remained open until 1993. After meeting her life partner, working in Iowa City, and attending law school, Lundoff and Pullman moved to Minneapolis in 1997 were she began a job in IT doing software quality assurance. She has written the lesbian erotica collections Crave: Tales of Lust, Love, and Longing (Lethe Press, 2007) and Night’s Kiss (Torquere Press, 2005) and was editor for the fantasy and horror anthology Hearths and Sapphic Shades Lesbian Ghost Stories (Lethe Press, 2008). In 2008, Lundoff‘s book Crave won her a Goldie Award for lesbian erotica and a Lesbian Fiction Readers Choice Award. She was also a 2005 Spectrum Award Short Fiction Finalist for her story “At the Roots of the World Tree.” She has over 60 publications in topics such as erotica, romance, science fiction and fantasy and nonfiction that show her work.
