Scope and Contents of the Materials

The Donald J. Bingle Papers consists of printed (paper-based) manuscripts for a novel by Donald J. Bingle, Forced Conversion, and for his published short stories, novellas, and novellettes. The collection also includes correspondence, research, notes, and some miscellaneous materials related to the publications. The collection is divided into series based upon format. Series I consists of novels; Series II consists of short stories; Series III consists of novels and novellettes; Series IV consists of correspondence; Series V consists of miscellaneous. Each series is organized by title based on publication date. Within the title, organization is based on original date of work. All other materials are organized within their series based upon original date of work. Dates of publication and reprinting are taken from Donald J. Bingle's notes.

Collection Historical Note

A graduate of the University of Chicago Law School, Donald J. Bingle plays a corporate lawyer by day and science fiction and gaming writer by night.Forced Conversion, his 2004 debut novel, is set in a world where people live in virtual reality and are threatened by those who refuse to. Derek and his Conversion Force squad must seek out the non-conformers and send them to a virtual world or death. A writer of gaming materials, short fiction, novels, and more; Donald J. Bingle is also an opponent of global warming through the GreensWord organization. Currently, the author is writing his second novel, GreenSword, a dark comedy about the environment and society.
