Scope and Contents of the Materials

The Sycamore-DeKalb Panhellenic records date from 1990 to 2003.  They consist of member made scrapbooks which document Panhellenic events, activities and accomplishments.  The scrapbooks contain memorabilia, newsletters, announcements, photographs, news clippings and programs. Included within the scrapbooks are annual announcement booklets which provide member and office lists, the constitution and bylaws, and featured programs.

Collection Historical Note

The Sycamore-DeKalb Panhellenic was founded in 1913.  Membership is connected to sorority alumnae from nationally recognized Greek sororities across the United States.  The Panhellenic operates in the Sycamore-DeKalb area, a less populated region where there would not be enough alumnae from individual sororities to make up their own alumnae chapter.  Alumnae can join to make up Sycamore-DeKalb Panhellenic membership and assist in worthwhile projects and philanthropy.
