Biographical Note for Hart, Donn V. (Feb. 15, 1918-July 10, 1983) : Donn V. Hart recieved degrees from the University of California, Berkley, Harvard University and Syracuse University.  He held positions at the University of Denver, and Syracuse University in the U.S. and Stillman University and the University of the Philippines in the Philippines, before coming to Northern Illinois University in 1971.  At NIU he served as a professor of Anthropology and the Director of the Center for Southeast Asian Studies.  During his tenure he accomplished many things, including the expansion of the Southeast Asia Collection at Founders Memorial Library and the development of interdisciplinary, graduate, and undergraduate courses.  On April 16, 1985, the Southeast Asia Collection at Founders Memorial Library was dedicated in his name.
