Administrative/Biographical History
Born in Peoria, Illinois, on May 29, 1934, Ray A. “Dutch” Scott married Iris F. Lee of Norfolk, Virginia. Scott received a B.S.B.A. degree (major in accounting) from Roosevelt University, Chicago, a Bachelor of Divinity degree (emphasis on ethics) from Garrett Theological Seminary, Evanston, and did work toward a masters in Community Mental Health at Northern Illinois University, DeKalb. His civic and professional involvement include corporate Vice-President/Treasurer for Modernfold Doors of Chicago, Inc., President and Treasurer for the DeKalb County Association of Churches, pastor for the United Methodist Church in Compton and Malta, Illinois, chairman of the committee that established DeKalb Crisis Line, and Business manager for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at N.I.U. He was also a member of the Illinois Educational Council, the National Association of College and University Business Officers, and the Central Association of College and University Business officers. Ray “Dutch” Scott held the position of vice-president at Phillips University, Enid, Oklahoma, at the time of his death in 1981.
