Rights: Property rights in the collection are held by the Regional History Center; such literary rights as Mr. Kavadas held in the collection are dedicated to the public. There are copyright restrictions on some of the phonograph recordings in the collection.

Also donated with the collection is 1,810 postcards which provide a photographic and travel descriptive of various states and foreign countries as well as cities and villages throughout Illinois: most date from 1910 to 1950. The postcard subjects include general, seasonal, nature, patriotic, Illinois (Amboy, Chicago, DeKalb, Dixon, Lee Center, Oregon, and other small towns), states (except Illinois), and foreign countries (Canada, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Japan, and Mexico). The collection of postcards were transferred to the Postcard Collection (RC 199).
Scope and Contents: The Kavadas Family Collection contains one box of printed materials, photographs, and scrapbooks which relate to the history of the family, especially Mrs. Kavadas. Most of these materials relate to Amboy and Lee Center, Illinois. Box one contains four folders of printed materials and photographs documenting the history of Amboy and Lee Center, Illinois. Also included in this box are two family photo albums and a scrapbook from the Ellwood School (DeKalb, Illinois) P.T.A., 1936-1937.
