The collection is divided into series based upon format. Series I consists of novels; Series II includes novellas; Series III contains short stories; Series IV consists of Notes; Series V contains correspondence; and Series VI is critiqued miscellaneous.
Administrative/Biographical History
Kage Baker was born on June 10, 1952, in Hollywood California. She grew up in a family with six siblings in Pismo Beach. Before her writing career she spent much of her time studying Elizabethan historical periods. Her first writings were published in Asimov’s Science Fiction in 1997, as well as her first novel In the Garden of Iden, which was published by Hodder and Stoughton. Her Empress of Mars novella was nominated for a Hugo award in 2003. Sadly, on January 31, 2010, Kage Baker passed away due to complications of uterine cancer. On May 15, 2010, her work The Women of Nell Gwynne’s won the 2009 Nebula Award in the Best Novella category.
