Lori was born in Salem, Missouri and grew up in southern Missouri, graduating from Salem High School in 1982.  She later graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and certificate in General Honors.  She later worked for three newspapers in two different states, until she decided to pursue writing fiction full time.  She is a USA Today Best-Selling Author, has been a finalist for numerous awards, including the Romantic Times Reviewers Choice Award, and is a member of Novelists Inc., which is a group for professional writers.  She writes science fiction, paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and young adult novels.  She currently lives in Madison, Wisconsin with her husband, daughter, son, and two dogs.
