Administrative/Biographical History
Grant Carrington is a computer programmer and writer who first published in 1971. Born in 1938 in New Haven, Connecticut, he grew up in North Haven and started writing stories in the 3rd grade, eventually graduating from North Haven High in 1956. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from NYU and his Master’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Florida. After graduating, he worked throughout the years as a computer programmer for numerous places, including the Goddard Space Flight Center, the University of Florida, the Naval Communications Command, the Savannah River Ecology Lab, the Westinghouse Corporation, and the Treasury Department of the United States, from which he retired in 2004.
Grant has published one novel, Time’s Fool, which was later republished as Time’s Fool, and Other Stories in order to include accompanying short stories and the complete Timedipper story arc. Over the years, he has published 40 short stories in science fiction, literature, and men’s magazines. He has also published 3 songs, book and record reviews, articles, and plays. After his retirement, he moved and now resides in Northampton, Massachusetts.
