The records in this group document student life and organizations from Northern’s opening in 1899 to the present.  The records are strongest for the post World War II period, and weakest for the decade of the 1930's.  The materials have been organized into six subgroups: Student Affairs Committee Records; Organizations and Annual Activities; Homecoming; Religious Life; Student Protests and Demonstrations (1962-1972); and Class Commencements, Programs, and Photographs.  Researchers should also consult related records in the Student Association Collection (UA37) for more information on student organizations.
