Records Relating to Lorado Taft Field Campus | Northern Illinois University
The Lorado Taft Campus has been part of NIU since 1954 and served for over forty years as home to the Outdoor Education Program within the College of Education. A few records in this collection predate NIU's acquisition of the property and help to tell the history of Eagle's Nest Art Colony from its beginning in the 1890's. The Field Campus records comprise the majority of this collection, and include institutional histories, news releases, photographs, administrative correspondence, published articles, minutes of meetings, program reviews and reports. A third series focuses on the theme of outdoor education. Oral history tapes on outdoor education topics [1960’s-1980’s] comprise the final series.
